With Slavery Remembrance Day fast approaching (Friday 23 August), you are invited to take part in a special on-line discussion. Join Dr Richard Benjamin this Monday (19 August) between 3-4pm (UK time) when he’ll be live on Twitter.

Dr Benjamin is Head of the International Slavery Museum and will be on hand to answer any queries about this important week.

Richard will be asking the question: What does Slavery Remembrance Day mean to you?  Why is it important today? And how big a problem does enslavement continue to be? Please visit @slaverymuseum to have your say.

From Tuesday we’ll feature guest blogs from people giving their thoughts on Slavery Remembrance Day and the challenges we still face to end discrimination and racism.

We’ll also be tweeting live from Thursday’s Memorial Lecture and Friday’s Slavery Remembrance Day – so please do join in if you can @slaverymuseum. It’s always nice to receive so many comments and thoughts from people across the globe who can’t be with us on the day.
