Mayor and winning artist

2013 dot-art Schools prize giving with Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Millar

Do you know a budding Banksy, an early Emin or a tiny Tintoretto? If they’re in Years 6 and 9 they could enter dot-art Schools’ competition and see their work on display at the Walker Art Gallery!

Last year’s winner, James Murphy, 14, of St Margaret’s Academy, Aigburth said: “I am really happy to have won. I want to be an animator and this exposure will give me a big step up.”

Head of Art at St Margaret’s, S. McGarry said: “Talking part in the dot-art Schools competition was a great opportunity for the school and the students involved. We will be taking part again this year and the students are already excited and even staying in at lunchtimes for art club!”

Schools have until 20 December to enter the competition.

The exhibition runs at the Walker from 17 May to 8 June 2014
