We announced the exciting news today that Liverpool jewellers, David M Robinson will be sponsoring the John Moores’ £25,000 first prize.

The John Moores Painting Prize has a special connection for David Robinson. He won the first of his two De Beers Diamond Awards early in his career and this achievement was an important springboard in his career. He said:

I’m delighted to be able to support the arts on Merseyside and the John Moores Painting Prize in particular.

I was lucky enough to have been helped in the development of my design business by winning two international design prizes and it feels right to be helping others in the same way.

The John Moores Painting Prize 2014 call for entries is now closed. Our judges will all meet for the first time early next year for the selection process to start. It’s an exciting point in the competition with a wealth of interesting work to chose from. Keep up to date with the progress of the Prize via Twitter or Facebook. You can also see videos of past winners and judges and learn more about the prize on our website.
