Here’s Sarah Houghton from our membership team to tell us about a recent special event for the ‘Turner: travels, light and landscape’ exhibition at the Lady Lever Art Gallery:
I always enjoy all the buzz around a new exhibition opening. It’s a chance to invite our National Museums Liverpool members along, so they can enjoy an exclusive look at the new exhibition and see for themselves how their money is being used. World-class exhibitions being just one important area. I was pleased to meet some of our members last week at a special evening event to coincide with the opening of the new Turner exhibition.
Our curators are so knowledgeable and passionate about the exhibitions they bring together for the gallery. I was lucky enough to join in with our members to hear Charlotte, the curator, talking about the exhibition. Charlotte explained how the collections on display are considered some of the most outstanding collections of Turner watercolours, paintings and prints in the country. Curators have so many different elements to their job and speaking to the public about the collections is just one of them. So it was a great opportunity for the members to ask questions and get a really unique insight into the works on display.
This is just one of a number of events that take place in all of our venues throughout the year exclusively for our members. For more information on the scheme and the other benefits you would receive, contact Sarah on firstname.lastname@example.org
