Did you know that the Museum of Liverpool runs regular parent and baby sessions specially for our youngest visitors? Here’s Fay from the Museum to tell you all about them:
“Hi! My name is Fay and I’m part of the Education team at the Museum of Liverpool, delivering lots of family-friendly activities. I’m also mum to a very active toddler, so I know how great it is having somewhere safe, educational (and free!) to take my tot right on my doorstep. The Museum of Liverpool is just that and perfect for young visitors!
When I’m trying to keep a certain someone under 3 entertained, the Museum of Liverpool has the answer. On Tuesday mornings during term time the Little Liverpool gallery hosts Tiny Liverpool, our parent and baby sessions for children aged 0 – 36 months. We also run Tiny Liverpool sessions on the third Saturday of the month if you can’t make it during the week.
At a Tiny Liverpool session, all the usual activities Little Liverpool has to offer are available for you to enjoy without the worry of more boisterous older children. To make it really special, there are lots of toys and games to play with – all specially chosen to encourage your toddler’s development. There’s also the chance to join in with singing nursery rhymes and story time. The youngest babies and pre-walkers are also catered for with our Liver bird’s nest – a multi-sensory pod which is just right for tummy time! Tiny Liverpool is also a great opportunity for toddlers to gain independence and practice their social skills and for you to socialise with other parents: the perfect excuse to take time out in our Waterfront Café when you’ve finished exploring!
There’s plenty to keep everyone busy, so come along and see what the Museum of Liverpool has to offer you and your little one!
Tiny Liverpool parent and baby mornings for under 3s take place from 10am every Tuesday during term-time and every third Saturday of the month. Collect a free ticket from the welcome desk on arrival.
The Little Liverpool gallery for under 6s is open every day with timed sessions throughout the day. Collect a free ticket from the welcome desk on arrival.”
