Private tours of conservation studio this members’ month

3 April 2015 by Sarah Houghton

Paintings conservator at work in the studioDid you know that there are 3250 paintings in our collections which are all looked after by our paintings conservation department?  This year during members’ month in May, our members can immerse themselves into this fascinating world of paintings conservation and enjoy a private tour of the studio, something that isn’t available to the general public.

Last year our members loved having the opportunity to ask our paintings conservator questions and look at the painstaking work that is involved. One member said:

“It’s so interesting to see the conservators at work – I wish I had trained as a conservator! It was unfortunate that the tours had to come to an end, I literally could have spent all day there!”

There are also other opportunities to enjoy and explore our venues during members month including; behind the scenes access, out of hours visits, curator-led tours and in-depth academic lectures.

So don’t miss out on all that members’ month has to offer. Join a special community of supporters today! Find out more about members’ month and our membership scheme including information about the other great benefits our members receive.  You can join online or call me, Sarah Houghton, Memberships Officer on 0151 478 4157.
