Seized! is a permanent gallery situated in the Merseyside Maritime Museum at the Albert Dock Liverpool. The gallery explores the mysterious world of smuggling and the way in which the Border Force protects society against harms caused by this illegal activity.

On Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31 we are holding our first ‘Border Force family fun days’. This free event is open to all and will take place in and around the Maritime Museum from 11am until 4pm on both days. The Border Force teams will be here to show us their wide range of roles, including rummaging ships, scanning freight containers, spotting forgeries and teaching us how to avoid buying fakes.

The Sniffer dog team from Manchester Airport will be giving free demonstrations throughout the afternoon, they’re the cutest customs officers we’ve ever met!

Free activities for you to take part in will include face painting, crafts and the ‘Beer Goggle Challenge’.

The team from exoteach will bring along live snakes and turtles for you to see up close, and the Border Force team will show off some of the articles they have seized from travellers in order to protect such endangered animals.

Also keep an eye open for our stilt walkers, Magic Philip and a six foot tall Smugglebuster dog and his handler. There’ll be crafts, information stands and so much more! Come along and join in the fun and meet the Seized team, we look forward to seeing you here.
