Can We Dig It?!

16 January 2018 by Liz

We have an exciting 2018 planned for our Mersey and Dee Young Archaeologists! This club, for 8-16 year-olds, explores our archaeology, history and heritage in a variety of ways, and we love getting out and getting our hands dirty too!

Young archaeologist washes finds on site in Rainford

This year we’ll be looking at archaeology from around the world, including the awesome Chinese Terracotta Warriors. And we’ll be learning about amazing archaeology closer to home, including a visit to the Lunt Meadows excavation.

We’ll use our creativity to explore art through the ages, and write poems about finds.  And we’ll be scientific investigators when we use isotope analysis to understand what people ate in the past.

Our sessions are Saturday mornings 10-11.30, and we also run summer holiday clubs for three days, 10.30-4pm. See our full programme on the club web-page. Membership of the club costs £30 for the year.
