Did you know William Brown Street in the heart of Liverpool City Centre is the only street in the country to house a national museum , a national art gallery and a library?
We’re very lucky to have our very own World Museum and Walker Art Gallery alongside the newly refurbished Liverpool Central Library – all in one place! Each attraction is free and open daily with plenty of ideas to keep you and the children occupied all summer. Check out what’s on at our museums and galleries here and also see what’s on next door at Central Library .
With so much to do on one street you may not feel the need to explore further afield but you’ll be rewarded even further if you do. William Brown Street is part of the St George’s Quarter, one of the UK’s great cultural hubs, which is home to even more world class venues such as St George’s Hall and the Empire, Royal Court and Playhouse Theatres. In total the Quarter attracts over 4.5 million people a year!!
To give visitors a new way to explore its attractions the St George’s Quarter has launched an app to help explore the quarter and learn more about what is going on today as well as its fascinating history. The app is available to download for free on Android here.
The app was commissioned by the St George’s Quarter Community Interest Company (CIC) and funded by the Heritage Lottery fund.
